Dennis is a Certified Public Accountant and holds CPA licenses in California and Oregon. He attended Valparaiso University in Indiana where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1972. His career began as an accountant and auditor for Arthur Young & Company now Ernst and Young in Portland, Oregon. They relocated to the Coachella Valley, and in 1977 Dennis became the owner and president of Dennis Godecke Accountant, Inc. In 1991, his associate, Debra Clark, was added to the company name and the firm became Godecke Clark.
