Certified Public Accountants, are people who are dedicated financial professionals of the United States of America and who have spent a good deal of their academic career studying and passing the stringent Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination. These professionals have, strived to meet and have met additional state education and experience requirements for their license to operate as a CPA. CPAs are the only professionally licensed people to provide the public, attestation which includes auditing and opinions on financial statements. While CPAs are known by the general public in part for their tax expertise and for maintaining the accounts books of small organizations, they are uniquely educated for the attestation function discussed above.
The Tyler Division of First American Title Insurance Company started in early 1981, when First American acquired a small underwriter in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In that purchase First American Title inherited several title plants in Oklahoma and of course one in Texas, that being Tyler Land Title. Their National Accounts offices are fully empowered to make their own underwriting decisions. Customers who begin transactions in one office are able to deal with that same office no matter where their properties are located.
The 90's have proven to be a good growth time for the Tyler Division. Their Tyler office has recently completed a new building in February 1998, at Kinsey and Dominion Plaza. Their goal was to build a beautiful, efficient, modern building for customers to close their real estate transactions. Tyler now has 27 employees, three of whom are at their computerized branch office in Lindale, Texas.
Offer title underwriting, escrow, closing, and coordination services vital to processing such complex real estate transactions; provide state by state information on title practices and title insurance coverage options, and efficiently deal with national lending institutions on multi state construction, permanent financing, and refinancing transactions.
