Edge Ciavarella traces its history to 1945 when Mr. William Mayhall, CPA opened the accounting practice in the Mills Building El Paso, Texas Mr. Mayhall practiced accounting for over 30 years until his retirement in December 1976. Bill was instrumental in forming the El Paso Chapter of Certified Public Accountants having served as the Chapter's second President in 1941 to 42. They were very active in community affairs and were very proud to be an El Pasoan.
The Company is a member of an external quality control review organization American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Private Companies Practice Section. They have a system of quality control for their accounting and auditing practice that requires of its staff a minimum of 20 hours per year and a total of 80 hours every two years of continuing professional education.
Additionally, for all staff responsible for planning, direction, conducting substantial portions of the field work, or reporting of a governmental or nonprofit audit engagement, the firm requires that 40 of the 80 hours be in subjects directly related to the government environment and to government auditing.
