On March 30, 2006 -- Best Buy Co., Inc. reported earnings from continuing operations of 644 million dollars, for its fiscal fourth quarter ended on Feb. 25, 2006. Earnings from continuing operations increased 24 percent from 521 million dollars, for the prior-year fourth quarter.



On Jan. 6, 2006 – Best Buy Co., Inc. from the Consumer Electronics Show, reported that revenue for the fiscal month ended December 31, 2005, rose 12 percent to 5.7 billion dollars, compared with 5.1 billion dollars for the fiscal month ended Jan. 1, 2005. The revenue increase for the five-week period was driven by 104 new store openings in the past 12 months and a 5.8 percent comparable store sales gain which was higher than expected. The company attributed the gain to strong store execution and customer demand for consumer electronics, which drove higher average transaction sizes. The comparable store sales gain came on top of a 2.5 percent comparable store sales gain for the prior year’s period.
