Clorox Co was founded in 1913 as Electro-Alkaline Company and changed its name to Clorox Chemical Corporation in 1922. It changed its name to Clorox Chemical Co. in 1928 and then to The Clorox Company in 1957. Clorox Company is based in Oakland, California. Clorox has become a major corporate presence throughout the world. It’s a publicly traded company having a good stock performance result. Clorox Co is a fortune 500 stock listed company trading under CLX. The company’s laundry additives and home cleaning products are sold in more than 100 countries and are manufactured in plants in North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.




 


The Clorox Company engages in the manufacture and marketing of cleaning products in the United States. It offers laundry products, which include laundry stain removers, liquid bleaches, and dry and liquid color-safe bleaches and water filtration systems and filters. The company’s home care cleaning products primarily comprise disinfecting sprays and wipes, carpet cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, drain openers, toilet and bath cleaning tools, floor mopping systems, and premoistened towelettes.



 


Clorox Company also provides professional products for janitorial, institutional, and food service markets, which include bleaches, disinfectants, toilet bowl cleaners, food-storage bags, barbecue sauces, trash bags, soap scum removers, mildew removers, and bathroom cleaners.



 


Its cat litter products include clumping cat litter and scoopable and silica-gel crystals cat litter. The auto care products consist of cleaners and wipes, protectants, tire- and wheel-care products, gel washes and waxes, washes and automotive fuel and oil additives. Additionally, the company offers food products, which include salad dressings and dip mixes, seasonings, seasoned mini-croutons, sauces and marinades.



 


Clorox Company sells its products to grocery stores and grocery wholesalers primarily through a network of brokers and through a direct sales force to mass warehouse clubs, merchandisers, and military and other retail stores in the United States. It also sells its products outside the United States through subsidiaries, distributors, licensees, and joint-venture arrangements with local partners.  Their Net Sales as on 30 September 2005 is valued about 11.04 dollars.
