Startup Florida Completes Private Equity Investment in Yokel

SARASOTA, FL (PRWEB) November 16, 2005 -- Startup Florida, an early stage investment fund for hi-tech companies, today announced the closing of a new investment in Yokel, Inc., an online directory to search and locate products in local markets. The company is located in Boston, Massachusetts. Terms of the financing were not disclosed.

Startup Florida will be joined by other investors including Startup Massachusetts, Walnut Ventures and Boston Capital Ventures.

Yokel offers visitors a single destination to search and locate products for purchase at local stores. Visitors simply type in the desired product, as well as their location via zip code, and Yokel will display a list of local stores that carry the product, sorted by proximity to the user.
