FIPS 140-2 Certification Awarded to MOBILE ARMOR
Mobile Armor provides comprehensive mobile data security solutions for government and industry that protect data and facilitate regulatory compliance.
ST. LOUIS, Missouri (PRWEB) November 22, 2005 -- Mobile Armor, LLC, the leading provider of Enterprise Mobile Data Security (EMDS) solutions software for protecting critical electronic assets through centralized management, integrated authentication, and high-speed cryptography, announced today it has been awarded FIPS 140-2 validation for the MOBILE ARMOR Cryptographic Module. This validation includes Microsoft Windows, Linux and Windows Mobile platforms and provides an independent assessment that MOBILE ARMOR’s cryptographic implementation meets the Level 1 encryption standards for data security and integrity under the joint US National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) and Canadian Communications Security Establishment (CSE) Cryptographic Module Validation Program.
“Mobile Armor is pleased with the independent validation provided by the Cryptographic Module Validation Program,” said Chand Vyas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Armor. “Our Government customers require strong encryption that has been independently tested for quality and effectiveness; we are pleased to provide Enterprise scalable solutions that make use of this validated security.”
FIPS 140-2 specifies the rigorous testing requirements that must be satisfied by a cryptographic module utilized within a security system protecting information within computer and telecommunication systems. The testing covers areas related to the secure design and implementation of a cryptographic module and include design and documentation, module interfaces, authorized roles and services, physical security, software security, operating system security, key management, electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC), cryptographic algorithms, and self-testing.
Government and private sector organizations constantly face pressure to protect vital information and the United States Government requires FIPS 140-2 Certification for cryptographic technologies deployed in most federal agencies to assure adherence to industry standards.
The ability to centrally create, deploy and manage security software, and ensure the stability and integrity of mobile data is crucial to safeguarding the increasingly mobile enterprise. MOBILE ARMOR provides the most reliable security management interface for all deployed Linux, Windows, Pocket PC, Palm OS and Blackberry devices and only MOBILE ARMOR provides the industry’s highest level of knowledge, experience and commitment to securing the enterprise.
With a data security system centered on its flagship Policy Server software, MOBILE ARMOR seamlessly integrates its Microsoft Certified DataArmor full-disk strong encryption and pre-boot authentication security software with other security applications such as file/folder encryption, antivirus, firewall, and virtual private networking. Using an extensible, cross-platform FIPS 140-2 certified cryptographic module and enterprise scalable web services based architecture, MOBILE ARMOR security solutions enable rapid deployment of centralized security policies that are consistently and uniformly applied across the enterprise to all electronic devices such as servers, PDAs, desktops, laptops, tablet PCs, and smart phones.
“FIPS 140-2 certification confirms MOBILE ARMOR’s enterprise mobile data security software meets and exceeds the most stringent standards for data security in the world,” said John Muir, Managing Director, Trusted Strategies, LLC, a research and analyst firm based in Pleasanton, California. “This award provides independent validation that Mobile Armor offerings provide their customers the highest level of security, performance and scalability.”
