Portland, ME (PRWEB) November 17, 2005 -- The Institute for Financial Literacy is pleased to announce is has received its approval from the United States Trustee Program to issue certificates for Credit Counseling in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code.* The Institute for Financial Literacy is now the only provider approved to offer bankruptcy credit counseling and debtor education in all 50 states.

“The Institute is committed to making effective credit counseling available to financially distressed Americans, whether or not they are considering bankruptcy”, said Leslie Linfield, Esq., Executive Director of the Institute. “We are also pleased to expand our mission to include national delivery of debtor education using distance-learning technology.”

The Institute for Financial Literacy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make effective financial literacy education available to all American adults. The Institute accomplishes its mission by developing financial literacy education programs, partnering with non-profit, educational and governmental organizations, and publishing the National Standards in Adult Financial Literacy Education. The Institute is funded by program fees, private donations, and grants from public and private foundations.
