Jefferies Execution Services, Inc is a member of NASD, the National Association of Securities Dealers. NASD is a self-regulatory organization of the securities industry responsible for the operation and regulation of the NASDQ stock market and over the counter markets. It also administrates exams for the investments professionals, such as the series of 7 exams.
With origins on the Exchange as far back as 1927, Jefferies Execution Services has become a permanent fixture on the NYSE. In 1980, Jefferies Group, Inc. expanded into the high-net-worth market with the acquisition of Wagenseller & Durst, an older retail brokerage based in Los Angeles and a member of the NYSE since 1927. Jefferies Group reorganized the company, which then became known as W&D Securities. W&D became a clearing business for research and eventually evolved into a provider of high quality NYSE execution and clearing services to other broker dealers.
