Lazard Ltd began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on May 5, 2005. Lazard, the world's preeminent advisory investment bank, has offices in 16 countries around the globe. As of December 31, 2005, 80 percent of their assets under management were invested in equities, 13 percent in fixed income, 4 percent in alternative investments, 2 percent in cash and 1 percent in merchant banking funds. As of the same date, approximately 57 percent of our assets under management were invested in international, 22 percent in global investment strategies and 21 percent in U.S. investment strategies.
 
The Management also operates 2 wholly owned subsidiaries. They are, Funds Partenaires-Gestion, a private equity group focused on taking a controlling or significant stake in small to middle sized French companies; and Lazard Freres Banque SA, a Paris-based registered bank regulated by the Banque de France whose primary operations include commercial banking and the management of the Treasury positions of Lazard's Paris operations through its money-market desk.
