The Crawford Fund was established in June 1987 by The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. It was named in honour of the late Sir John Crawford and commemorates his outstanding services to international agricultural research. Fund depends on grants and donations from governments, private companies, corporations, charitable trusts and individual Australians. The Fund promotes and supports international R&D activities in which research organizations and companies are active participants.
 
The Company provides some plans to The Crawford Dividend Growth Fund like The fund will typically invest in common stocks of large capitalization companies. The advisor seeks high-quality companies with strong balance sheets, consistent and predictable earnings growth, and a history of dividend growth. Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80 percent of its assets in securities of companies that pay regular dividends. The fund may also invest in fixed income investments rated A+ or better by Moody's, including U.S. government securities, corporate debt securities, mortgage-backed securities and convertible securities. The fund is nondiversified.

The economic development that flows from this is a bit like dropping a pebble into a small pond and watching the ripples expand, because by helping people to earn money, other benefits flow such as job creation, education, slowing population growth, and improving maternal and infant health and nutrition.
 
The Crawford Fund supports Future Harvest - Science for Food, the Environment and the World's Poor. It was decided that national support organizations should be established in member countries, starting with the USA, the UK, Canada, and Australia. It is a national support organization for international agricultural research research that has as its objective the reduction of poverty, the achievement of food security and the enhancement of environmental sustainability of farming systems in developing countries as well.
