FBR Family of Funds

Founded in 1989 with an initial investment of 1 million dollars, Friedman Billings Ramsey (FBR) is now a top ten investment bank with a national franchise, one of the strongest equities distribution capabilities in the securities industry, and 1.1 billion dollars in total revenues in 2004.

The FBR Mutual Funds are a family of seven equity portfolios spanning various market capitalizations and industry sectors such as energy, technology, and financial services. The company’s specialized approach offers investors diversified exposure to segments of the market that offer tremendous long-term potential. Their highly-focused investment discipline and strategy are designed to compliment an existing diversified portfolio.

FBR Gas Utility Index seeks to provide income and capital appreciation. The fund intends to provide investment results that correlate with those of an index composed of the common stocks of natural-gas-distribution and transmission companies that are members of the American Gas Association. The advisor uses the proportional weighting of each stock in the index as a target for the composition of the fund itself. The index is weighted by market capitalization. The Fund is market cap weighted and adjusted for the percentage of natural gas assets on each company’s balance sheet. The index is reset monthly or when conditions warrant such as merger, acquisition, and capital restructuring. The Fund is reset daily based on market activity.

FBR Large Cap Financial Fund seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in equities issued by companies providing financial services to consumers and industry. These companies may include, but are not limited to, commercial banks, savings and loan associations, brokerage companies, insurance companies, and real-estate and leasing companies. Philosophy of this fund involves buying financial services stocks with the best earnings growth outlook selling at the lowest price-to-book and price-to-earnings multiples. Macro-economic factors influencing the sector such as interest rates and credit quality are diligently monitored for positioning within the portfolio.

The Funds have an automatic withdrawal program, which allows you to withdraw a specified dollar amount on either a monthly or quarterly basis. You must have a minimum account balance of 10,000 dollars in a Fund to enroll in the automatic withdrawal program.

FBR’s mission is to provide long-term investment growth for their investors with attention to personalized service, timeliness of information, and a commitment to quality fostered by a family of associates dedicated to excellence.
