The Holmes Growth investment seeks long-term growth of capital. Current income is incidental. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in common stocks. To select specific issues, the advisor considers earnings figures, equity ownership by management, market leadership, management, P/E ratios, debt/equity ratios, and general growth prospects. Megatrends Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation consistent with preservation of capital. Current income is secondary. The fund invests primarily in common stocks of established companies. The advisor chooses stocks on a value basis, focusing on companies with strong balance sheets and substantial free cash flow. From time to time, however, the fund may invest all assets in U.S. government securities and high-quality corporate bonds. The asset composition of the fund is determined on the basis of market-timing techniques developed by the advisor. The fund may invest up to 5 percent of assets in American depositary receipts.
U.S. Global Investors Eastern Europe fund normally invests at least 65 percent of assets in equities of companies located in the emerging markets of Eastern Europe. Eastern European countries may currently include Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, and Hungary. The fund may invest up to 35 percent of assets in securities issued from other companies and governments located around the world.
U.S. Global Investors Global Emerg Mkts fund invests at least 80 percent of assets in the equities of companies located in emerging market countries or in companies with a significant business presence in emerging countries. These investments include common stocks, preferred stocks, convertibles, rights, warrants, and depositary receipts. It may invest in companies of any size and in any sector, however it will primarily invest in companies with large market capitalizations.
