The fund may invest in zero-coupon or deferred-interest bonds. It may also invest in bonds that are subject to the Alternative Minimum Tax. This fund is nondiversified.

Davenport Equity Fund seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in common stocks. It may invest the balance of assets in preferred stocks, convertible preferred stocks, convertible bonds, and warrants. The fund's advisor does not limit the fund to any particular market capitalization requirements when selecting stocks.

The investment seeks income consistent with capital preservation. The fund normally invests at least 40 percent of its assets in U.S. government securities. The balance of assets may be invested in investment-grade corporate debt and money market instruments. Securities purchased by the fund have remaining maturities ranging from less than one year to 15 years. The fund maintains an average weighted maturity of three to seven years. The fund's investments may include floating rate securities. It may invest without limit in American Depositary Receipts.

The fund invests primarily in common stocks issued by medium to large-sized companies representing several industries and economic sectors. It may also invest in sponsored American Depositary Receipts. In selecting common stocks, the fund selects companies judged to have strong balance sheets and financial ratios, breaks them down into groups based on diversification qualities, then ranks them according to return on equity, dividend yield, earnings projections, and ratios such as price/earnings, price/book value, and debt/equity.

The fund has a team of fund managers that are highly experienced in the field of investment and work diligently when it comes to handling your investment thus your investment is secure to a great extent even though one must keep in mind that there are risks involved in any type of investment. The expertise of the managers minimizes your risk.
