The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in municipal obligations, at least 65 percent of which are exempt from both federal and California personal income taxes. The weighted average maturity typically ranges between 10 and 30 years. It may invest no more than 20 percent of assets in debt securities that pay interest subject to federal income tax. The fund is non-diversified.

Salomon Brothers High-Yield Bond Fund seeks to maximize total return, consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in high yield bonds and related investments. It primarily invests in high yield bonds issued by U.S. and foreign corporations and foreign governments. The fund will limit its investments in emerging market governmental issuers to 35 percent of assets. The average maturity generally ranges between 6 and 12 years, though it may vary substantially based on management's expectations of market conditions.
