The WesMark Funds let the balance risk and reward with five investment options Growth Fund, Small Company Growth Fund, Balanced Fund, Bond Fund and West Virginia Municipal Bond Fund. WesMark Growth Fund seeks appreciation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 65 percent of assets in equities issued by U.S. companies. Management seeks issuers with prospects for above-average growth in earnings and dividends. The fund typically invests in mid- or large-capitalization companies. Potential investments may include U.S. and foreign common stocks, American Depositary receipts (up to 25 percent), convertible bonds, and other investment-grade corporate debt obligations.
WesMark Balanced Fund seeks capital appreciation and income. The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of equity and debt securities. Normally, the asset mix of the fund will range between its assets in common stocks and convertible securities, 30-70 percent in preferred stock and bonds, and 0 to 40 percent in money market instruments. The fund will include stocks that pay dividends and will attempt to maintain an above average dividend yield. It will also invest at least 25 percent of assets in fixed income senior securities.
WesMark Bond Fund seeks high current income consistent with preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 65 percent of assets in investment-grade securities, although it is permitted to include any type of debt instrument. It invests in those sectors of the bond market that offer the highest yield in relation to historical yield spreads. It attempts to achieve above average returns by recognizing changing relative yields and allocating the assets of the fund into the most attractive market and maturity sectors. The fund may invest in bonds of any maturity.
WesMark Small Company Growth Fund seeks capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of common stocks of small-sized companies similar in size to those within the Russell 2000 Index. It normally invests in companies in market sectors that offer the highest growth potential, which historically have been telecommunication, computer hardware and software, technology, health care, and biotechnology. However, the fund may invest in other sectors if, in the Advisor's opinion, they offer a better opportunity for growth.
