Aquila
Aquila Investment Management LLC is the lead organization of several affiliated investment management companies which manage market and administer mutual funds. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aquila Management Corporation which was founded in 1984.
The Aquila Group of Funds, which has a dedicated, multi-faceted staff of 35 persons, has a combined asset size of approximately 4.5 billion dollars. This ranks Aquila in the upper 30 percent of all mutual fund complexes nationwide. The Aquila Group primarily specializes in fixed income investments, currently consisting of 11 funds, 7 single-state municipal bond funds, 3 money-market funds, and a regionally-oriented equity fund.
Aquila's 7 bond funds service investors in states with smaller populations, relatively high income tax rates and interesting long-term economic growth potential - Hawaii, Arizona, Oregon, Kentucky, Colorado, Utah, and Rhode Island.
Three money market funds Aquila Rocky Mountain Equity ‘A’, Aquila Rocky Mountain Equity ‘C’ and Aquila Rocky Mountain Equity ‘Y’ seeks capital appreciation. All three normally invests at least 65 percent of assets in equities of issuers with significant business presence in Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The advisor seeks undervalued securities, and considers factors such as product characteristics and market potential, operating ratios, management skill, intrinsic value of securities, and general economic and market environments when selecting investments.
Aquila’s initial investment is 1,000 dollars or more or by opening an Automatic Investment Program (minimum dollar 50 per month). There is no minimum on additional investments. A specific amount (dollar 50 minimum per investment) can be invested, automatically each month on the 1st and/or 16th. The Fund has been designed to participate in the economic development occurring in the Rocky Mountain region of our country.
