Ron Baron a registered investment advisor who founded Baron Capital Management, in 1982 Baron Asset Fund was established in 1987. The company offers a number of funds for the investor to choose from. Some of the main ones are listed below.
 
Baron Asset Fund investment seeks capital appreciation. It invests primarily in common stocks of small and medium sized companies selected for their capital appreciation potential. The adviser seeks to purchase securities that the he expects could increase in value 100 percent within four years.
 
Baron Growth Fund seeks capital appreciation which invests primarily in common stocks of smaller growth companies selected for their capital appreciation potential and  in small sized companies with market values under 2.5  dollar billion.
 
Baron Small Cap Fund seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in securities of smaller companies which has market value under 2.5 billion dollars.
 
Baron Opportunity fund seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 65 dollar of assets in securities of companies that are internet related. This includes opportunities directly related to the web and rapidly changing information technology environment.
 
Baron Fifth Avenue Growth seeks capital appreciation. It normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in securities of larger growth companies with market capitalizations in excess of 5 billion dollars. The adviser seeks to purchase securities that he expects could increase in value 100 percent over five years. Minimum initial investment is 2000 dollars, There is no min for
subsequent investments. Initial investments are common in BARAX, BGRFX, BSCFX, BIOPX and BFTHX.

The Fund invests primarily in equity securities, which are subject to price fluctuations in the stock market. An investor's shares when redeemed may be worth more or less than their original cost.

With the type of returns the company has shown in the past through it may not be any guarantee for the future performance of the company, the odds are the company will manage similar results in the future too.
