Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., member SIPC, receives remuneration from fund companies participating in the Mutual Fund One Source service for record keeping and shareholder services and other administrative services. Schwab also may receive remuneration from transaction fee fund companies for certain administrative services.
 
The company’s short-term redemption fee of $74.95 will be charged on redemption of funds purchased through Schwab’s Mutual Fund One Source service and held for 90 days or less. Schwab reserves the right to exempt certain funds from this fee, including Schwab Funds, which may charge a separate redemption fee, and funds that accommodate short-term trading.
 
Trades in no-load mutual funds available through Mutual Funds OneSource service as well as certain other funds, are available without transaction fees when placed through Schwab.com or their automated phone channels. For each of these trade orders placed through a broker, a $25 service charge applies. Schwab reserves the right to change the funds they make available without transaction fees and to reinstate fees on any funds.
 
Schwab Balanced Market Masters Fund seeks capital growth and income. The fund invests in equity and fixed income securities, for its equity portion, it expects to invest in large and mid-cap U.S. companies, but also may invest in small-cap companies. For its fixed income portion, the fund expects to invest primarily in investment-grade debt instruments, but also may invest to a limited extent in high yield securities, and the weighted average duration of the fixed income portion will normally be within approximately 2 years of the Lehman Brothers U.S. Aggregate Bond Index.
 
Schwab International Market Masters Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests a substantial amount of assets in equity securities of companies outside the United States. It expects to invest in companies across market capitalization ranges.
 
Schwab 1000 Index Inv seeks to match the total return of the Schwab 1000 Index, an index composed of the common stocks of the 1,000 largest publicly traded United States companies. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in Schwab 1000 index stocks, in proportion to their weighting in the index. It may invest the balance of assets in securities not included in the index.
