Corporate headquarters are in Indianapolis, with major operations in California, Minnesota, Texas, Washington, Puerto Rico and Ireland. Their products are distributed by a sales force recognized throughout the industry for its clinical expertise and customer service.
 
On April 5, 2006 Guidant Corporation announced preliminary first quarter revenues of approximately 894 million dollars, reflecting a decline of approximately 6 percent versus the first quarter of 2005 and growth of 8 percent versus the fourth quarter of 2005. Preliminary, unaudited U.S. and worldwide implantable defibrillator sales for the quarter are approximately 308 million dollars and 419 million dollars, respectively, representing declines of 16 percent and 12 percent, respectively, compared to the first quarter of 2005.

The company also reported full year 2005 sales of 3.55 billion dollars, representing sales decline of 215 million dollars or 6 percent versus 2004. Foreign currency translations negatively impacted revenue by 5 million dollars compared to the prior year. Income and earnings per share from continuing operations for 2005 were 444 million dollars and 1.33 dollars versus 573 million dollars and 1.78 dollars in 2004, down 23 and 25 percent.
 
Guidant Corporation reported fourth quarter sales of 828 million dollars, representing a sales decline of 140 million dollars or 14 percent versus the prior year, primarily due to the impact of the 2005 product recalls and field actions. Foreign currency translations negatively impacted revenue by 27 million dollars or 3 percent compared to the prior year, and by 6 million dollars or 1 percent compared to the third quarter of 2005.
