Founded in 1980 as Aardvark Financial Inc., the company began as a small service provider for a group of traders on the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The business rapidly grew along two lines of proprietary trading of both fixed income securities and the related exchange listed derivatives and providing clearing services for clients on those two same Chicago exchanges. The rapid growth in the retail and institutional clients as well as the diversification of the underlying markets induced the company to change its name in 1984 to the TransMarket Group.

From their beginning in 1980 and to the current date, TransMarket Group has been an inventive provider of value added services to traders of the global financial markets.
