Castle Creek Financial Llc

Castle Creek Financial Llc. is a member of NASD, the National Association of Securities Dealer. NASD is a self regulatory organization of the securities industry responsible for the operation and regulation of the NASDQ stock market and over the counter markets. It also administrates exams for the investments professionals, such as the series of 7 exams.

Over the last 15 years, Castle Creek has become the pre-eminent private equity firm investing in banking institutions in the United States. John Eggemeyer established Castle Creek's predecessor, Belle Plaine Partners, Inc., a Chicago based financial advisory firm specializing in restructuring troubled banks in the aftermath of the savings and loan crisis of the 1980's.

In 1996, Castle Creek Capital LLC was formed along with the origination of Castle Creek Capital Partners Fund I, LP. Castle Creek re-located to Rancho Santa Fe, California in late 1996 to take advantage of the opportunities existing in the unconsolidated and rapidly growing Southwestern bank market. In 1998, Castle Creek formed its second fund, Castle Creek Capital Partners Fund II. The capital raised in its first two funds was from high net worth individuals and institutional investors.

The Company seeks to invest in United States banks that operate in regions characterized by favorable demographics such as above average population and economic growth and that the Principles believe are markets that are under banked. This would include smaller healthier banks that are under performing or lack critical mass and offer the opportunity to implement a roll-up acquisition program. In an environment characterized by heated competition for attractive deal prospects, private equity firms must have a competitive edge to deliver superior returns.

Castle Creek's team applies its significant managerial and banking expertise as it implements its Partners in Change philosophy which entails working actively with management to devise strategic plans that are focused on growing the core business and enhancing operating efficiencies of its portfolio companies.

The strategic redirection of portfolio companies typically involves basic steps like Shift deposits away from high cost accounts to low or no interest rate accounts. Reduce non interest operating expenses by adopting best practices technology, eliminating redundant functions and closing under performing branches. Refocus lending and investment activities towards lower risk middle market and small business loans.

Castle Creek and its managers have consistently demonstrated an ability to generate superior investment returns by achieving outstanding profitability and growth in its portfolio companies.
