Morgenthau & Associates is a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers. NASD is a self-regulatory organization of the securities industry responsible for the operation and regulation of the NASDQ stock market and over the counter markets. Morgenthau is sponsoring its inaugural venture capital fund, the Accelerator Fund, with a target capitalization of $60 million. The Accelerator Fund will make equity investments in a diversified portfolio of growing technology driven privately held companies with $2 million to $30 million in revenues. The Fund will focus its investment activities towards those emerging technology industries including, software, IT infrastructure and consumer and business services. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Accelerator Fund will pursue investments primarily in the Southeastern United States Florida, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas with particular emphasis on the most underserved market, Florida. The Fund derives a significant competitive advantage from being one of the few indigenous venture capital funds located in Florida. The benefit of proximity is an absolute necessity to ensure ongoing and rigorous monitoring of the Fund’s portfolio.
The company was founded in 1972, is a member firm of the National Association of Securities Dealers and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation. Over the past seven years, Morgenthau & Associates, led by Anthony R. Morgenthau, executed and refined a strategy of investing in and supporting entrepreneurs in high-quality seed stage companies. From August 1996 through June 2003, Morgenthau & Associates raised and invested in excess of $63 million of initial and follow-on capital in twelve seed staged companies, which were completed as stand alone investment opportunities. To date, Morgenthau & Associates has successfully exited five investments and is at various stages of executing its exit strategies for the remaining seven investments.
