They maintain inventories of corporate debt securities, preferred stocks, municipal securities, government securities, government agency securities and mortgage securities. These inventories are maintained to facilitate their clients' transactions and trading. Their public finance bankers underwrite debt issuance and provide underwriting, financial advisory, risk management and other related investment banking services to government and non-profit entities. The Company’s public finance client base is divided into government and specialty sectors.
Our fixed-income sales and trading professionals have expertise in corporate, mortgage, agency and municipal securities and guide a range of investors, including: financial institutions ,public entities , money managers , individual investors , insurance companies , corporations .
We maintain an equity capital markets team that facilitates public offerings of equity and equity-linked securities, block trading of restricted stocks and venture capital support services; a team that originates and structures convertible securities; and a debt capital markets team that originates and facilitates the issuance of debt securities.
Piper Jaffray and Co. has a dedicated team that focuses on secondary sales and trading of low investment grade securities in the aircraft, health care, collateralized debt and distressed credit sectors. Ten analysts provide value-added research using a standard methodology to forecast credit metrics and potential volatility.
