As of February 2005, the Company's divisions and subsidiaries operated two thousand five hundred three retail stores in thirty seven Albertsons operated fuel centers in some states. The Company's retail operations are supported by distribution centers. Albertsons' divisions and subsidiaries operate stores under the banners Albertsons, Acme, Bristol Farms, Jewel Osco, Jewel , Grocery Warehouse, Osco Drug, Max Foods, Sav on Drugs, Shaw's, Star Market and Super Saver.
 
On April 2004, the Company acquired J Sainsbury plc's United States retail grocery store business Shaw's. The operations acquired consisted of grocery stores in the New England area operated under the banners of Shaw's and Star Market.

Albertson Inc. gave their all stockholders about twenty six point twenty nine dollar in cash and Super value stock for each Albertson’s share. Super value will pay about six point three billion dollar in stock and cash and assume about six point one billion dollar in Albertson’s debt. Its days may be numbered as a company, but Albertson's Incorporated has landed on Fortune magazine's ranking of the 100 largest companies in the United States based on its 2005 revenue of over 40 B billion dollars, Albertson's is the 47th largest company in the nation, the magazine says. That's a decline from Albertson's place on the list last year, when it ranked thirty fifth on the Fortune 100.
