The Allstate Financial segment provides life insurance, retirement, and investment products to individual and institutional customers. Mr. Edward M. Liddy is Chairman, Chief Exec. Officer, Chairman of Allstate Insurance Company and Chief Exec. Officer of Allstate Insurance Company.

Its principal products include deferred and immediate fixed annuities, variable annuities, life insurance, and supplemental accident and health insurance. This segment markets its products through multiple intermediary distribution channels, including agencies, independent agents, banks, broker-dealers, and specialized structured settlement brokers. It became a totally independent company after Sears divested its remaining shares to Sears stockholders.

The Allstate Financial segment also offers various banking products and services, including certificates of deposit, money market accounts, savings accounts, checking accounts, first mortgage loans, and home equity loans. The company provides insurance products to approximately 17 million households.
