Serving the community since 1966, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Maryland and Delaware, is a credited non profit community service organization. They are dedicated to help individuals and families resolve financial problems. They promote the sensible use of credit through confidential budget counseling, debt management repayment program, and community education. CCCS doesn't lend money, nor they are a collection agency. Annually, CCCS helps more than 30,000 individuals through counseling sessions, and reaches more than 150,000 individuals through education programs.
 
Their Services include confidential budget counseling which advices on how to successfully manage your personal finances, schedule an appointment with one of their certified counselors who will review your expenses, income and spending habits.
 
If budget counseling and money management advice is not enough, you may enroll in a debt management plan a service provided by the company. A debt management plan DMP is a debt repayment program in which you make one monthly payment to their agency that they then pay out to your creditors. In many cases, a DMP reduces your total monthly payment and the monthly interest you are currently paying your creditors. DMPs are voluntary programs that serve a dual role in helping consumers repay debt, and helping creditors receive the money owed to them.
 
In the service of educational seminars they provide educational workshops and programs to a wide variety of civic organizations, educational groups and community businesses. Popular topics include budgeting and money management workshops, establishing credit, understanding credit reports and using credit intelligently. In addition to educational seminars CCCS of MD and DE, sponsors programs through the joint council on economic education. These courses are taught in the classroom from Kindergarten through high school in Maryland and Delaware public and private schools.
