AFBA Five Star Fund

AFBA was established in February 1947 with the approval of the Secretary of War, Mr. Robert Patterson. Membership in AFBA today is available to all members of the Uniformed Military Services; Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and other Federal Government employees; Contractor Employees in support of the Uniformed Military Services; State and Local Employees and their families.

In November 1996, the Board of Directors of 5Star Financial approved the establishment of the AFBA 5Star Fund, Inc., a family of mutual funds, in accordance with the Investment Company Act of 1940. AFBA 5Star Investment Management Company manages all aspects of the Fund.

5 Star Financial provides high quality products and services at a reasonable price. That simple philosophy was crafted by a handful of military officers who founded AFBA, the 5Star Association in 1947. That same philosophy resonates throughout all of the business enterprises ultimately owned by AFBA, including AFBA 5Star Investment Management Company.

AFBA 5Star Financial offers a wide variety of mutual funds and asset classes such as AFBA 5Star Balanced Fund, AFBA 5Star Small Cap Fund, AFBA 5Star Mid Cap Fund, AFBA 5Star Large Cap Fund, AFBA 5Star USA Global Fund and AFBA 5Star High Yield Fund.

The AFBA 5Star Balanced Fund is a uniquely diversified Fund that is designed to provide you with broad market exposure and low volatility versus the S&P 500. AFBA builds its portfolio using large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap companies. Typically, the stock portion of the Fund is made up of large-cap dividend-paying stocks. Their debt allocation is made up of high yield corporate bonds and convertible securities often issued by small and mid-sized companies.

The AFBA 5Star Small Cap Fund invests in companies with a market cap of 2 Billion dollar or less. The management team uses an established, disciplined investment process that focuses on growing, profitable companies with strong balance sheets. While small-cap stocks offer high growth potential, generally they are more volatile than large-cap stocks. The fund is intended for investors willing to assume greater risk in exchange for potentially higher capital appreciation.

The AFBA5 Star Large Cap Fund invests in companies with a market cap of 10 Billion dollars or greater. The management team uses an established, disciplined investment process that focuses on growing, profitable companies with strong balance sheets.
