E Trade

E Trade International Index Fund seeks to match as closely as practicable, before fees and expenses, the performance of an international portfolio of common stocks represented by the Morgan Stanley Capital International Europe, Australia, and Far East Free Index. The Fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing in a delegate sample of common stocks of issuers that comprise the MSCI EAFE Index and other investments that replicate the performance of the MSCI EAFE Index.

E Trade Russell 2000 Index fund seeks to match the total return performance of the small-capitalization sector of the U.S. stock market by investing in a delegate sample of those securities comprising the Russell 2000 Index. The Fund selects securities for investment in agreement with their capitalization, industry sector, liquidity, and valuation, among other factors, as represented in the Russell 2000 Index.

E Trade S&P 500 Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that match as closely as predictable, before fees and expenses, the total return of the stocks comprising the S&P 500 index. The fund normally invests at least 90 percent of assets in stocks making up the S&P 500. The fund may also purchase and sell futures and options on stock index futures. It may invest up to 10 percent of assets in high-quality money market instruments for liquidity purposes.

E Trade Technology Index Fund seeks to match, before fees and expenses, the total return of the stocks making up the Goldman Sachs Technology Index. The fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing substantially all of its assets in the same stocks and in substantially the same percentages as the securities that comprise the GSTI Composite Index.

The E Trade Index Funds had the lowest effective expenses because ETAM contractually limited their expenses. The expenses of the E Trade Index Funds prior to the imposition of the contractual limits are, in fact, higher. ETAM has agreed contractually to limit the expense ratio for the E Trade Index Funds until April 30, 2006. Without the contractual limits, the expenses of the E Trade Index Funds are 0.78 percent for the S&P 500 Index Fund; 1.12 percent for the Russell 2000 Index Fund; and 1.73 percent for the International Index Fund. Since September 2005, Standard & Poor's has ranked E Trade International Index Fund 4 stars.
