Brazos Mutual Funds

Brazos Capital began running the Brazos Mutual Funds on December 31, 1996 in response to the demand to provide a means of investing with Brazos Capital at a lower minimum account size. The Brazos Mutual Funds:  Micro Cap, Small Cap, Mid Cap, and Growth Funds are managed by the same team of investment professionals as the firm's separately managed accounts, and the same investment philosophy and procedure are used for the Funds.

Brazos Micro Cap Fund seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests in common stocks and securities convertible into common stocks that have potential for capital appreciation. It invests in companies with market capitalization of 600 million dollars or lower, or companies represented in the lower 50 percent of the Russell 2000 Growth Index. The fund may invest in securities of foreign issuers.

Brazos Mid Cap Fund seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests 80 percent in stocks of middle capitalization issuers. A middle capitalization issuer is defined as an issuer that, at the time of purchase, has a market capitalization between 1 billion dollars and 12 billion dollars, or falls within the range of companies represented in the Russell Mid-Cap Growth Index.

Brazos Small Cap Portfolio seeks capital appreciation. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in equities issued by companies with market capitalizations between 200 million dollars and 2.5 billion dollars or within the range of the companies represented in the Russell 2000 Growth Index. Investments may include equity securities of small-cap companies including common stock and securities convertible into common stock. The advisor generally seeks investment in securities of companies with above average growth rates, average annual revenues below 1 billion dollars, above average return on equity, and low debt levels.

Brazos Growth Fund seeks capital growth. The fund primarily invests in equity securities, including common stocks and convertible securities. It may invest up to 5 percent of assets in foreign securities, including American Depositary Receipts. The advisor selects securities whose issuers have growth rates exceeding 20 percent, above average return on equity, and low levels of debt.

The mission of the Brazos Mutual Funds is to offer maximum capital appreciation, reliable with reasonable risk to principal, by investing in speedily growing companies with earnings.
