Farm Bureau Company was established in 1944. In 1971 the company introduced the sale of its mutual funds. Today these funds are managed by FBL's subsidiary, EquiTrust Investment Management Services.

EquiTrust Blue Chip Funds seeks growth of capital and income. The fund invests at least 80 percent of net assets in common stocks of approximately 50 large, well-known companies that the advisor believes constitute a representative cross section of major industries. These "blue-chip" companies are generally identified by their substantial capitalization, established history of earnings, and superior management structure. The advisor anticipates that the fund will purchase approximately equal dollar amounts of shares of each company.

EquiTrust High-Grade Bond Funds seeks current income. The fund invests primarily in high-quality debt securities and U.S. government securities. From time to time, it may invest up to 20 percent of assets in debt securities rated below A, as well as in convertibles and high-quality nonconvertible preferred stocks. The fund normally invests at least 65 percent of assets in medium- and long-term debt.

EquiTrust Managed Funds seeks the highest total investment return of income and capital appreciation. The fund follows a fully managed investment policy consisting of investment in the three market sectors of common stocks and other equity securities, high-quality debt securities and preferred stocks and high-quality money-market instruments. There are no restrictions as to the proportion of one or another type of security that the fund may hold. It may also invest up to 25 percent of assets in equity securities of foreign issuers.

EquiTrust Strategic Yield Funds seeks a high level of current income; capital appreciation is secondary. The fund invests primarily in fixed-income securities that are rated BBB or lower or in unrated securities of comparable quality. Normally, it invests more than 80 percent of assets in fixed-income securities (including convertible and nonconvertible debt securities and preferred stocks), and at least 65 percent of assets in debt securities.

EquiTrust Value Growth seeks capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in common stocks of companies that have established records of sales or earnings growth or that have new products, services, or processes. It may also invest in companies in cyclical industries when the advisor judges them to promise capital growth. It may invest up to 35 percent of assets in preferred stocks and debt securities.
