The fund invests primarily in adjustable and floating rate securities which are issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government, its agencies or instrumentalities, including mortgage-backed securities and agency securities.
Federated Bond Fund seeks income consistent with preservation of capital. The fund invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of investment-grade fixed income securities. The adviser seeks to enhance the fund's performance by allocating relatively more of its portfolio to the security type that the adviser expects to offer the best balance between current income and risk. It may invest up to 35 percent of assets in fixed income securities rated below investment grade. The adviser may lengthen or shorten duration from time to time based on its interest rate outlook, but the fund has no set duration parameters.
Federated American Leaders Fund seeks growth of capital and income. The fund uses a value style of investing to select primarily equity securities of large capitalization companies that are in the top 25 percent of their industry sectors in terms of revenues, are characterized by sound management and have the ability to finance expected growth.
Federated CA Municipal Income Fund seeks income exempt from federal and California income tax. The fund normally invests at least 65 percent of its assets in investment-grade California municipal securities. It may invest the balance of assets in debt obligations of any state. The fund is non-diversified.
