The fund primarily invests in common stocks of U.S. companies with medium market capitalizations, which offer the potential for substantial long-term growth. It may also invest a portion of its assets in stocks of companies with small or large market capitalizations. The fund may invest in securities of foreign companies.
Municipal Bond Funds primarily invest in securities issued by municipalities to finance public projects such as bridges, schools and highways. The municipal bonds in the funds are insured by independent insurance companies as to the timely payment of interest and principal. However, these funds are subject to interest rate risk and market risk. Therefore, the values of the funds' shares fluctuate. Depending on where investors live, they may be able to invest in municipal bond funds that are “triple tax free” (free from local, state and government taxes).
