Azzad Fund

Azzad Asset Management Fund  was  established in 1960 and is dedicated to helping clients achieve their financial goals in line with ethically based principles. That means saving for a retirement, a child's education, or wealth accumulation without investing in unethical products and services.

The fund has  two types of investment schemes, Azzad Ethical Mid Cap Fund and the Azzad Ethical Income Fund.

Azzad Ethical Mid Cap Fund main objective is long term total returns that, after expenses, match or exceed the annualized performance of the standard & Poor’s Midcap 400 Index. The S&P 400 is an index composed of 400 medium capitalization domestic common stocks.

The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing substantially all of its net assets in mid cap stocks. Mid cap companies are defined as companies with market capitalizations of 500 million dollars to 10 billion dollars at the time of investment. The Fund invests in a blend of growth and value mid cap stocks that have passed Azzad's ethical screening criteria.

Mid cap stocks are companies that have outgrown their infancy and may be on their way to achieving blue chip status. Historically, keeping in mind that past performance does not guarantee future results, mid cap stocks have outperformed large cap stocks and have demonstrated less volatility than small cap stocks. Fund managers try to identify companies of this size with strong potential, attractive valuation, growing market share and a sustainable competitive advantage. Its portfolio managers seek to add value through active portfolio management based on the use of fundamental, proprietary research.

Azzad Ethical Income Fund’s main objective is current income with the secondary goal of achieving long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity income securities. The Fund is actively managed and invests at least 80 percent of its assets in large-cap, dividend paying companies and may invest up to 25 percent of its assets in mid to small cap companies. It may generate income through dividends, distributions, and realized capital gains.

The Fund includes promising companies whose main line of business are in line with its ethical investment philosophy. It avoids companies with significant revenues from alcohol, meat products, tobacco, gambling, weapons of mass destruction, pornography, & banks and financial companies.

With the type of returns the company has shown in the past through it may not be any guarantee for the future performance of the company, the odds are the company will manage similar results in the future too.
