Metropolitan West AlphaTrak 500 Fund seeks a total return that exceeds the total return of the S&P 500 index. The fund primarily invests into equity derivative instruments. These investments may include S&P 500 index futures contracts, Mini S&P 500 futures contracts, options on S&P 500 derivatives, and swap agreements involving the S&P 500. The fund may at times invest all assets directly in common stocks that comprise the index. It may also invest in fixed-income securities, and up to 25 percent of assets in money market mutual funds.
 
Metropolitan West Total Return Bond Fund seeks long-term total return. The fund primarily invests in fixed income securities. It normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in investment-grade debt. Typically the average duration ranges between two and eight years and the dollar-weighted average maturity ranges between two and fifteen years. The fund may be concentrated in areas of the bond market that the advisor believes to be relatively undervalued.
 
The fund invests in a portfolio of high yield fixed-income securities of varying maturities issued by domestic and foreign corporations and governments and their agencies and instrumentalities with portfolio duration of two to eight years. The minimum initial investment is 5000 dollars with no minimum subsequent investment.
 
The investment seeks to maximize current income, consistent with preservation of capital. The Fund normally invests in a diversified portfolio of fixed-income securities of varying maturities issued by domestic and foreign corporations and governments and their agencies and instrumentalities with portfolio duration of one to six years. It may also invest up to 15 percent of its assets in derivative instrumentals such as futures and options. The minimum initial investment is 5000 dollars with no minimum subsequent investment.
