Prior to that, from April 2002 until January 2004, he was a Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs, with management responsibility for the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division and the Equities Division. Lord Browne was appointed an executive director of The British Petroleum Company p.l.c. in 1991 and became its Group Chief Executive in 1995. He is on the board of one public company in addition to Goldman Sachs and BP p.l.c. Intel Corporation.
