Poet Properties
A mortgage broker is an individual or firm that acts as an independent agent for both the borrower and the lender of a mortgage loan. Mortgage brokers are the middleman between you and the lending institution, which can be a bank, trust company, credit union, Mortgage Corporation, finance company or even an individual private investor. A mortgage broker will analyze your financial situation to determine which lender is the best fit for your loan needs. He or she will submit your mortgage application to one or more lenders in order to sell it, and works with the chosen lender until the loan closes. He or she receives a commission from the borrower if the loan closes.
Poet Properties is a joint venture of Michael Pottorff and Cecelia Swed, high school friends since the 1960's, and still friends after 40 years of marriage, albeit to other people. Each of them have over twenty years experience in the Real Estate industry, including commercial, industrial, retail, construction, multi family residential,development, and lodging facilities. The answer is that most reasonable persons would simply be overwhelmed with the forms and regulations required to get a loan from a bank, and, because logic dictates that one realize that a banker, that only has a couple of loan programs, will try to convince you that one of them is best for you as if his livlihood depended upon it.
The company knows that if they get your business, it will because they have provided you with superior service, or, all things being equal have provided it to you cheaper. Unlike some bankers, they don't get paid for going to work, but for doing it to your satisfaction, when your loan.
