The Janus Foundation was formed in 1994 to support and enhance the communities where their shareholders and employees live and work. A Foundation attempts to provide funding to nonprofits when they need it most. Therefore, our grant selection committee meets each month to evaluate all proposals, and there is no deadline for submission.
 
While they recognize there are many diverse nonprofit organizations providing invaluable services to the community, the Janus Foundation has elected to focus on the three following giving areas at-risk youth through education, community service and volunteerism and cultural institutions in the Denver-metro area. The Janus Fund seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund primarily invests in equity securities with growth potential. It generally invests in larger, more established companies. The fund may invest up to 35 percent of assets in high-yield bonds. It may also invest up to 15 percent of assets in illiquid investments and without limit in foreign equity and debt securities.
 
Janus Adviser High Yield Fund seeks to obtain high current income. The fund pursues this objective by investing under normal circumstances, at least 80 percent of assets in high yield/ high risk securities rated below investment grade.
 
The Janus Aspen International Grth Instl seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80 percent of assets in equity securities of issuers, typically from at least five different countries, excluding the United States. It may invest up to 35 percent of assets in high-yield bonds. The fund may also invest up to 15 percent of assets in illiquid investments and without limit in foreign equity and debt securities.
 
Janus Risk Managed Stock Fund seeks growth of capital. Under normal circumstances, the fund at least 80 percent of assets in common stocks selected for their growth potential. The fund may normally invest without limit in foreign equity and debt securities. Usually the fund will invest no more than 20 percent of assets in high-yield/high-risks bonds. The fund may typically invest up to 15 percent of assets in illiquid.
