Sparrow

Sparrow Capital Management was established in 1988 and the founder was Gerald Sparrow. Sparrow Growth seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests in the equity securities of large growth companies in the United States. It may invest in foreign companies. The minimum initial investment is 10,000 dollars with minimum subsequent investment of 500 dollars.

Sparrow believes a portfolio composed of growth stocks that are primarily large capitalization and are fully diversified across all major economic sectors could provide investment returns that exceed market averages.

Sparrow invests primarily in stocks that demonstrate high and sustainable growth scenario called a Core Growth strategy, this investment approach seeks stocks that will demonstrate superior long-term returns compared to general market indexes. Occasionally, Sparrow will hold a stock for a longer period of time even if near term momentum weakens due to their belief in the stocks long-term potential and low valuation relative to future prospects.

To identify potential opportunities, Sparrow searches both domestic and foreign markets as well as multiple market sectors. Sparrow considers all market capitalizations with a bias toward large capitalizations. Sparrow’s portfolios tend to resemble the capitalization mix found in general stock market indexes such as the S&P 500, but Sparrow maintains the flexibility to invest in growth opportunities at any capitalization size.

Sparrow believes a portfolio composed of stocks, bonds or securities bought and sold at the right price could provide investment returns that exceed market averages. To identify potential opportunities, Sparrow searches both domestic and foreign markets, as well as multiple market sectors. Sparrow considers all market capitalizations as well as bonds, sector funds, index shares and other liquid securities.

All investments are equally weighted at the time of initial purchase. No more than 5 percent of their holdings are invested in any one security at the time of initial purchase. If no appropriate stocks or bonds are available, cash equivalents are held.

The fund will not invest 25 percent or more of assets in any particular industry. It may invest up to 15 percent of assets in fixed income securities rated investment grade.
