Aladdin Capital Management is a member of NASD the National Association of Securities Dealers. NASD is a self regulatory organization of the securities industry responsible for the operation and regulation of the NASDQ stock market and over the counter markets. It also administrates exams for the investments professionals, such as the series of 7 exams.
Aladdin Capital Management was co founded in November 1999 by Amin Aladin and George Marshman. The firm is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Registered Investment Advisor. Located in Stamford, Connecticut, Aladdin currently serves as the advisor and manager for the Aladdin Global Credit Fund Genie II, one investment grade cash flow; the Aladdin Floating Rate Trust and separate accounts.
Since inception, the firm has capitalized on the founding principal’s institutional investment experience, fixed income sales and trading backgrounds and relationships with investors across the globe. The group’s primary business focus is non traditional, credit based fixed income investment management with an emphasis on structured credit products.
Aladdin’s forty nine employees have a variety of backgrounds that include research and marketing, structured finance, derivatives, general fixed income and sovereign debt, trust banking, and rating agency experience. The investment and research professional staff consists of twenty two team members who cover high yield and investment grade securities. Aladdin and its affiliates also invest in its existing funds and deals as determined on a deal by deal basis.
As of November 2005, Aladdin has approximately $8 billion in assets under management. Credit derivatives are the most rapidly growing part of the global securities market with assets now estimated at over $12 trillion. Aladdin focuses primarily on non traditional fixed income investment management with an emphasis on structured credit products.
