Alger’s focus is intensive, original, bottom-up, fundamental research. This approach was developed by its founder, Fred Alger, and has been carried out consistently throughout its history of nearly four decades. 
 
Under their services Alger Balanced provide Alger Balanced Fund seeks current income and long-term capital appreciation. The fund focuses on stocks of companies with growth potential and fixed-income securities, with emphasis on income-producing securities that appear to have some potential for capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests in common stocks and fixed-income securities, which include commercial paper and bonds rated within the 4 highest rating categories by an established rating agency. Ordinarily, at least 25 percent of assets are invested in fixed-income securities.
 
Under their services Alger Capital Appreciation, The Alger Capital Appreciation Portfolio seeks long-term capital appreciation. Under normal circumstances, the portfolio invests in the equity securities of companies of any size which demonstrate promising growth potential. The portfolio can leverage, that is, borrow money, to buy additional securities. By borrowing money, the portfolio has the potential to increase its returns if the increase in the value of the securities purchased exceeds the cost of borrowing, including interest paid on the money borrowed.
 
Under their services Alger Health Sciences Alger Health Science Portfolio seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund normally invests in companies that are engaged in the health sciences sector. These companies must devote at least 50 percent of its assets to activities in any area of the health science sector. The fund currently offers Class A, B, and C shares.
 
Under their services Alger LargeCap Growth the investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The portfolio focuses on growing companies that generally have broad product lines, markets, financial resources and depth of management. Under normal circumstances, the portfolio invests primarily in the equity securities of large companies. The portfolio considers a large company to have a market capitalization of 10 billion dollar or greater.
 
Under their services Alger Socially Responsible Instl Alger Socially Responsible Institutional Portfolio seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in equity securities of companies of any size that, in the opinion of management, conduct their business in a socially responsible manner, while demonstrating promising growth potential. Socially responsible conduct extends to the areas of protection of the environment, fair labor practices, equal employment opportunity, the protection of consumers, and, more generally, the enhancement of the quality of life.
