Visteon was established in 2000 and is headquartered in Van Buren Township, Michigan. Visteon Corporation engages in the manufacture and supply of automotive systems, modules, and components to new vehicle manufacturers and the automotive aftermarket worldwide.
 
The company offers a variety of products including interior products such as cockpit modules, door modules, and console modules, and exterior products comprising lighting products such as rear combination lamps, center high-mounted stop lamps, headlamps, and fog lamps, also the company includes climate control products and systems consisting of heat exchangers, climate controls, compressors, and fluid transport systems as well as power train cooling related technologies.
 
In addition, the company provides leased personnel and transition services. It sells its products primarily to vehicle manufacturers, as well as to other suppliers and assemblers and also to automotive original equipment manufacturers for use as aftermarket and service parts, and to others for resale. The company also offers electronic products including audio systems such as digital and satellite radios, HD radio broadcast tuners and premium systems for audiophile enthusiasts, driver information systems and information, entertainment, and multimedia systems. Visteon also supplies automotive glass products, and float glass for commercial architectural and automotive applications.
 
During the year ended December 31, 2005 Automotive Operations, Glass Operations and Services Operations accounted for about 97 percent, 2 percent and 1 percent respectively of the Company's total net sales. In September 2005, the Company transferred 23 of its North American facilities and certain other related assets and liabilities to Automotive Components Holdings, LLC, an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, and its subsidiaries. On October 1, 2005 the Company sold to Ford all of the capital stock of the parent company of Automotive Components Holdings.
